As far back as I can remember, I’ve wanted to help others. When I was in grade/high school I wanted to help animals by way of becoming a Marine Biologist. When I reached University, I had more of a desire to impact humans by way of fitness so I went on to become a personal trainer.
Several years pass and, while I enjoyed what I was doing, I felt as though I was missing some information that would assist me in getting clients the results I imagined. I couldn’t describe what I was looking for, but I knew I found it as soon as I had my first conversation with Todd Swaine. I was introduced to Todd by fellow SOS Practitioner Jason Chiero; we worked together as personal trainers at the time. This introduction was soon followed by a brief seminar in which Todd treated a few of us to his SOS Philosophy. I assure you, whoever you may be, that the SOS Philosophy and its accompanying SOS Survival Operating System® manual therapy are the keys to unlocking levels of health that most don’t believe possible for themselves. On all levels, our healing is in our hands.
I immediately recognized that my life trajectory had changed. The information Todd shared with us blew my mind. However, I found myself bouncing back and forth between hope and despair. Hope that my clients and I could live healthy, peaceful and satisfying lives; despair as I realized that I had so much to unlearn. I had to question everything I believed to be true about health, life and myself. I know this to be a challenging obstacle for most on their healing journey. Press on, it’s worth every bit of it.
Life turmoil delayed my studying under Todd for about 5 years. While I was discouraged, I did not let the time go wasted. I studied CranioSacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy and Yoga; they all helped prepare me for SOS. I expanded my toolbox as much as I was able during that time to ensure that I would be better suited to grasp Todd’s material when that opportunity would inevitably present itself.
Now here I am, proud to say that I have been studying with Todd and my fellow SOS Practitioners for the last 5 years. I have greater satisfaction in my work as a therapist because I can better serve the clients that I treat. I have better relationships and interactions all around as I continue to grow into greater health and awareness. The world will become what we want as more of us get back to balance.
